Prodigy shared the news with their 253,000 Twitter followers yesterday, writing: “RIP Con. You always had our backs and looked after us for years, you got us out of many sticky situations on tour, you were a truly great man, in fact you were actually Superman – the people that knew you will understand what I’m saying.”(sic)
“Above all you were the greatest loyal friend to us all man…” they continued. “We will truly miss and never forget you brother.
“Our love goes out to Jayne and family. The Prodigy boys.”
Prodigy shared a series of pictures of Con working with them over the years, including one of him holding Keith Flint aloft above the crowd at a live performance at Glastonbury Festival in 2009.
Another showed Con and Keith backstage at the festival.
Fans used the comments section to pay their respects, with one saying: “Another loss for @the_prodigy. You will come back stronger and carry these loved ones with you on stage and on tour.”
“So sorry for the further loss you boys and all related have suffered,” another said, while a third wrote: “Con was great man. The time and help he gave me personally over the last 15 years will always be truly appreciated.
“I am proud to have called him a friend.”
Con’s death comes just weeks after Prodigy frontman Keith Flint was found dead in his home.
Last month, an inquest heard Keith’s provisional cause of death was hanging.
“Police attending, all protocols were followers and his death was confirmed as not suspicious,” Coroner’s officer Lynsey Chaffe told the inquest.
The coroner’s officer also said the cause remained under investigation pending toxicology reports, with the inquest adjourned until July 23 for a full hearing.
Crowds of Prodigy fans gathered in Braintree, Essex, to bid farewell to Keith at his funeral at the end of last month.
Thousands lined the streets, with the musician’s wife Mayumi Kai among those in attendance, along with Keith’s bandmates Liam Howlett, 47, and Maxin, 52.
Speakers relayed the service from the church across the grounds for fans, who were invited by the band to “raise the roof” one last time in honour of the legendary frontman.
The ceremony featured poems, readings and music from System of a Down and Pink Floyd.
