Prince Harry has finally released his charity single recorded with rock god Jon Bon Jovi and the Invictus Games Choir.
The unlikely musical supergroup laid down the track at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios (where The Beatles recorded many of their most famous songs) back in February.
We still can’t quite get our heads around the fact this happened, so bear with.
One choir member said that the single, which will be released in honour of military veterans living with post traumatic stress disorder, will ‘touch many hearts and be a light during this troubling time.’
The song is a new version of Bon Jovi’s Unbroken; the original version, also a tribute to veterans, came out last year.
It is taken from the band’s upcoming 15th studio album Bon Jovi: 2020.
Harry previously teased a video of he and Jon in the recording studio on the @sussexroyal Instagram page, along with the caption ‘I said I’ll give it a shot…’
(This is a nod to the lyrics of Bon Jovi’s famous 1986 single Livin’ On a Prayer, by the way…)
However, the clip cuts out just before Harry started to sing.
The new version of Unbroken is available to stream and download from today [Friday 27 March 2020].
Harry’s foray into music of course coincides with news that his wife Meghan Markle is preparing to voice new Disney documentary Elephant.
Unbroken’s re-release comes after Bon Jovi’s keyboardist David Bryan tested positive for coronavirus this week.
However, David told Instagram fans on Sunday that he’s ‘feeling better every day.’
Here’s hoping he’s made a full recovery by now!
