Premier League transfer news: Philippe Coutinho, Toby Alderweireld, David Alaba

Premier League transfer news and rumours

Coutinho to leave Barca?

Philippe Coutinho only signed for Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 but according to reports the Brazilian is considering his future at the Camp Nou.

The Daily Mail says that even though the 26-year-old has made 41 appearances for Barcelona this season he is not a guaranteed starter.

Coutinho left Liverpool for Barca in a deal worth £145m last year, but Spanish newspaper Sport claims that he could move on this summer.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Coutinho and Mundo Deportivo reported this week that Barca could use him as part of a potential deal to sign United’s England striker Marcus Rashford.

Quoted by Sky Sports, Sarri said: “I am not able to say if he is going to sign a new contract, but I think he will stay here with us in every case.” The 18-year-old England international has been linked with Manchester United and Bayern Munich but the London Evening Standard says that Chelsea could offer him a £100,000-a-week contract to stay at the Bridge.

Arsenal after Alaba

Arsenal have today been linked with Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti and another defender reportedly on their target list is Bayern Munich’s David Alaba. The Austrian could be unwanted this summer after Bayern confirmed a £68m deal to sign Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid. (The Sun)

Perez: time for a change

After five seasons playing for Newcastle United Spanish forward Ayoze Perez admits that his time at the Toon could soon come to an end. The 25-year-old said: “I believe in cycles and after five years [in Newcastle], I think it could be time for a change. It would be great for my career to return to Spain, play in La Liga and compete with a big club. I have played many games and I’ve adapted to a very difficult league and I think I’ve got good numbers. But life here is worse than in Spain.” (ESPN
