Reds back in for Sancho?
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he wanted to sign Jadon Sancho but Manchester City were unwilling to sell the winger to a Premier League rival.
The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool were interested in the youngster before he left City for Klopp’s former side Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
Klopp said: “We are not blind – we saw him, we liked him and then we think ‘can we get him?’ No. Because English clubs don’t sell to other English clubs.”
Now the Daily Mirror says that Klopp could be ready to make another move for the 18-year-old England international who has shone in the Bundesliga for Dortmund this season.
Wenger: Ozil in comfort zone
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Mesut Ozil’s £350,000-a-week long-term contract has put him in the “comfort zone” and is a key reason why the German has struggled to make an impact under Unai Emery. Wenger said: “Most of the time now we think when we sign a player for five years we have a good player for five years. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that they practice, they play their best. Because they might be in their comfort zone.” (Daily Mail)
Barca favourites for Jovic
Barcelona are in pole position to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic. The 21-year-old Serbia international, who has scored 19 goals this season, has also been linked with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. (Goal)
Pjanic: clubs were interested
Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has revealed that there was “some interest” in his signature last summer but he decided to stay with the Italian champions. Manchester United and Barcelona were linked with the Bosnian. (Daily Star)

Ruben Neves is being “closely monitored” by Manchester United but the Red Devils want Wolves to lower their £100m valuation of the 21-year-old Portuguese playmaker. (Daily Star)
Rivals battle for Mandi
North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are tracking Real Betis defender Aissa Mandi. The 27-year-old Algeria international can play in central defence or in both full-back positions. (ESPN via El Desmarque)
City group to buy Chinese club
While most football teams are in the market for new players Manchester City’s owners are keen on expanding their global portfolio of clubs. The City Football Group are set to announce the purchase of Sichuan Jiuniu, who play in China’s third division. As well as Man City, the City Football Group own clubs in New York, Australia, Japan, Spain and Uruguay. (The Guardian)
Bale wants Real stay
Gareth Bale may be the target of angry fans and media in Spain but despite his struggles the Daily Mail reports that the Welsh forward wants to stay at Real Madrid and has no intention of walking away from the club.
The 29-year-old has won 14 trophies and scored more than 100 goals since joining Real from Tottenham in 2013.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express claims that Real “want to offload” Bale to Chelsea but the player would reportedly rather join Manchester United.
