Pokémon GO is getting its first batch of Gen 5 pokémon

Gen 5 starter pokémon are amongst a number of new additions making their way to the hit mobile game today.

Monday, 16 September starts the third week of Ultra Bonus rewards in Pokémon GO and this week is the most exciting yet. That’s because Gen 5 pokémon will be added to the game at 1pm PT (9pm GMT).

While a complete list of all the new pokémon hasn’t been released yet, the Pokémon GO Twitter account has revealed a few dark silhouettes of new critters you can catch later on today. And it’ll be pretty obvious to any fan who these hidden pokémon are and what generation they are from.

However, it is possible that these silhouettes were tweeted to throw you off the track and in the end the app might surprise you with different Gen 5 pokémon.

Based on the teases given so far, it is safe to assume that only the first form of each new pokémon will be found in the wild, so you will have to catch ’em all to get enough candy to evolve them.

The silhouettes imply that starter pokémon Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott will all be added but the following are the only ones that are actually confirmed.

The list of confirmed Gen 5 pokѐmon

  • Klink
  • Klang
  • Klinklang
  • Herdier
  • Stoutland
  • Dewott
  • Samurott
  • Watchog
  • Servine
  • Serperior
  • Pignite
  • Emboar
  • Cofagrigus

The Gen 5 update is not the only thing happening this week, as starting on Wednesday, 18 September, you have one hour to fight a Mewtwo Five Star Raid, so be ready to battle one of the hardest pokémon in the game, and if you’re lucky you might even snag yourself a shiny.
