Pogba casts doubt on Man Utd future with latest comments amid PSG transfer link

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has refused to rule out a move to Paris Saint-Germain as speculation about his future continues to grow.

The 28-year-old, who is currently preparing for the Euros with France, has just one year remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford.

The club are reported to have opened discussions with Pogba’s representatives, and are thought to be keen for him to commit to at least another few years.

United are worried over the prospect of him running down his deal and leaving for free next summer, and are desperate to at the very least recoup some of the £89m they splashed out on him in 2016 if he is to depart.

At the moment it is unknown exactly what Pogba wants, with his notorious agent Mino Raiola saying last December that his client is “unhappy” at United.

In a press conference on Wednesday PSG pair Presnel Kimpembe and Kingsley Coman teased Pogba over the potential of him joining them in the French capital, asking him if he had been in contact with the Ligue 1 giant’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s.

On Thursday it was Pogba’s turn to face the media, and when asked about where his future lies he was not entirely clear in his answer.

“I have a year left on the contract, everyone knows that,” he said. “There have been no concrete extension proposals. I am still a Manchester United player.

“Contacts with PSG? I have an agent that deals with all that. I don’t have Al-Khelaifi’s number”.

Last month Pogba dropped a hint that he still has unfinished business with United when he vowed to win the Premier League with his team.

“Maybe the next step is to stay and play in one position, to help my team to win the Premier League,” he told BT Sport as he reflected on his numerous midfield roles under Solskjaer.

“That’s the next step, that’s what I’m saying. Everything is possible. If you don’t believe, then there’s no point in playing.”

United legend Roy Keane, meanwhile, admitted he has been left “disappointed” that Pogba has not been able to take United to the next level in the five years he has been at the club.

He said in a Sky Bet video with Micah Richards: “I like Paul as a player, simple as that. From what I hear, he’s a pretty decent human being, a good character.

“Slightly different in the way he leads his life, but he’s a talent boy.

“Again the one thing I’m disappointed with is, I don’t think he’s made Man Utd that much better or the players around him better.”
