Piers Morgan: ‘Susanna Reid’s soft’ GMB host spills on their biggest disagreement

Piers Morgan, 54, and Susanna Reid, 48, have been hosting Good Morning Britain together for five years, but they don’t always agree on everything.

Speaking about how they differ , Piers revealed he believes he’s a lot “tougher” than his co-star.

“I’m tough and she is soft,” the presenter spilled to Notebook Magazine.

Explaining the reason behind his “tough” stance, the star spilled: “I grew up with strong women who deal with things in a strong way. If I wallowed too much, my grandma would kick me into shape.”

Piers said he believes people should be “tougher” and shouldn’t have help with everything along the way.

“What I’m sad about in today’s society is that you’re not allowed to be like that,” he continued.

“You can’t ‘man up’. You have to be helped with everything. But I think you have to help yourself and be tougher.”

However, Susanna disagreed with his point of view and said expressing weakness is a “strength”.

The ITV favourite replied: “I don’t think people are wallowing when they get knocked down.

“I think expressing your weakness can also be a strength and telling people that they need to be strong all the time can be quite oppressive.”

Piers responded: “I’ll talk to my kids for hours if needs be and they need advice.”

“But ultimately, the message I give them is ‘Half the world is starving’.”

“See, I don’t think that’s a terribly helpful thing to say,” Susanna disagreed.

“If you’re struggling with your own problems, it instantly diminishes your problem.”

Meanwhile, on Good Morning Britain yesterday, the antics between the pair continued as Piers joked about Susanna’s diet.

On the show, Susanna was unable to complete her lines and accidentally blurted out “toast” as she introduced a new segment.

She said: “Toast, so what to celebrate?” Before realising her mistake and adding: “I just randomly said toast.”

Piers joked the error was because Susanna is currently on a health kick.

He quipped: “That’s what happened when you don’t eat food.

“Toast, steak, food, meat, sausages, wine, anything but kale smoothie. Anything but ghastly vegan food. Please feed me. Toast. It was like someone trapped in the Himalayas.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
