Piero Pirupa selects ten tracks for NONSTOP haus parties

PIERO PIRUPA has over the last decade earned his stripes not only as a revered tastemaker but as a one of Italy’s finest electronic music producers.

His groove laden, infectious rhythms have graced many of the best labels over the years including Crosstown Rebels, Defected and Get Physical, but his NONSTOP label lately has become his main focus with latest track ‘Haus Style’ marking a rebrand for the imprint as he looks to champion new talent moving forward.

Before the lockdown, ‘Haus Style’ was on course to be one of the big tracks on summer dance floors, with support pouring in from big names like Carl Cox and new kids on the block like Fisher with whom Piero was poised to hook up with on tour this year.

Having been locked down in Italy for the last couple of months Piero has not been silenced however, his music and label have continued to do the talking.

We caught up with him as he emerges from lockdown in Italy to find out what tracks he can’t wait to unleash on dance floors, a list that includes his new smash, ‘Haus Style’.

Check out his playlist here and read what he has to say about each track he has chosen below.

Piero Pirupa – Haus Style

Finally my new release on my label NONSTOP. I am super excited about this track and above all to start over with my label in collaboration with Infectious PR. This is the first release of a new era of NONSTOP and it’s a huge bomb played many times by Carl Cox and Fisher the last summer in Ibiza!

Alan Fitzpatrick vs Patrice Rushen – Haven’t You Heard

My origins have a strong disco music influence, so if there is a track with a quality disco sample around it then I will fall in love, in fact, I am in love with this track / bootleg by Alan Fitzpatrick and I think it will be the summer anthem of 2020.

Piero Pirupa – Braindead

“Heroin kills, stay away from pills, If you use cocaine wave goodbye to your brain
Doing speed is a deed that you really don’t need, A valium or maybe two just really wouldn’t do!”

Calvin Harris -Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)

I love this new project by Calvin Harris called Love Regenerator, a mix of sounds between the late 80s and 90s when the rave scene was blowing up! TUNE!

Monki, DJ Rae – I’m Free To Love You

Monki is on Fire! This tune brought me back in my early DJ days, around 2000. In love with those techno chords and a beautiful house vocal. This track is massive.

Gorgon City – Roped In

This was the track I played the most in the last few months until we had to stop because of the Coronavirus! What a journey…Incredible tune!

Ben Rau & Jansons – The Player

God, what a tune!! It is a deep tribal track but with a happy vocal feeling and when the acid enters you go with your mind directly into a rave!

Soul Providers – Rise (Bini & Martini Main Vocal Mix)

This is one of my favorite classics of all time, made in Italy 😉 Turn up the volume loud and SING!

Disclosure – Tondo

This track makes me happy in this sad period! It is a party starter tune! Summer tune! Big new one from Disclosure!

Inner City – Good Life

Let’s finish with another huge classic, a Detroit classic! I heard the bad news, my friend Kevin Saunderson from Inner City has contracted the Coronavirus, I hope he will get well soon! Stay strong Kevin, sending love!
