Pep Guardiola claims it is ‘crazy’ for Manchester City to thinking about winning the Premier League title ahead of Liverpool this season.

City ran out 4-1 winners over Burnley on Tuesday evening to move eight points behind league leaders Liverpool, who host Everton at Anfield on Wednesday.

At one stage last season, Liverpool held a seven-point lead over City before Guardiola’s side recovered to win the Premier League title.

But Guardiola refused to talk up his side’s chances of pulling off a similar feat this season after City’s win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

‘The title is over, what I read nobody gives us a chance, it’s done,’ Guardiola said with a smile.

‘For the distance we have against Liverpool, it would be a little bit crazy to think about the title, honestly.

‘We have to think about the derby, game by game, it’s not just about the Premier League, the other competitions, and it’s important to take this rhythm for the next fixtures.
