Pedro has revealed how the Chelsea squad reacted to the embarrassing defeats they suffered under Maurizio Sarri earlier in the season.

Sarri only replaced Antonio Conte as manager last summer but was fighting for his job last month after the Blues were thrashed 6-0 by Manchester City, less than a fortnight after a 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

Chelsea were also knocked out of the FA Cup by top-four rivals Manchester United.

But since then, Sarri’s side have taken Man City to penalties in the Carabao Cup final and secured victories over London rivals Tottenham and Fulham.

Asked about Chelsea’s reaction to their heavy losses, Pedro told Sky Sports: ‘We said “this is enough”.

‘I spoke during the week about the situation [with my team-mates], but now we’re all focusing on reaching the top four.

‘It’s the most important thing for us until the end, to try to win every game.

‘They’re all finals because it’s so important to get points, try to win every game and if not, it’s going to be so difficult to qualify.’

Despite Chelsea’s turbulent season, Pedro has enjoyed his most productive season to date in the Premier League, scoring eight goals in 16 starts.

On his form, the Spaniard added: ‘It’s probably the best form I’ve been in.

‘Maurizio is very clear with his ideas and that’s good for me because I run, press high and recover the ball. I stay close to the target to score goals and help my team – that’s good.

‘I speak with him a lot about my role on the pitch and I’m comfortable playing high, and I like it.’

Pedro could leave Chelsea next year with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2020.

But the 31-year-old has suggested he is willing to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.

‘I’ve always said I’m happy here with my team-mates,’ he said. ‘I am happy with them, the supporters, the city, it’s good – but you never know.’
