Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made three changes for his side’s trip to face rivals Liverpool at Anfield.

The Red Devils went three points clear at the top of the table with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Burnley on Tuesday.

Anthony Martial picked up a hamstring injury in the final stages at Turf Moor but/and the Frenchman

Paul Pogba’s scintillating performance against the Clarets gave Solskjaer a selection dilemma ahead of the trip to Merseyside, as the Norwegian was always likely to redeploy Fred and Scott McTominay into the base of his midfield.

And Solskjaer has opted to include the Frenchman in his starting XI, while Edinson Cavani and Eric Bailly have dropped out as Victor Lindelof returns.

Liverpool are unbeaten at home in the Premier League for almost four years and United last beat their arch rivals at Anfield in January 2016.

The Reds haven’t hit top form yet this season but they remain overwhelming favourites to retain their title.

Jurgen Klopp was hoping Joel Matip would prove his fitness in time to face United but the Cameroon international failed a late fitness test.

Jordan Henderson partners Fabinho in the heart of Liverpool’s defence, while Xherdan Shaqiri is a shock inclusion in midfield.
