Paul Pogba breaks silence on failed Man Utd transfer after Chelsea win

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has broken his silence after failing to secure a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

The French superstar publicly admitted he was keen for a fresh challenge after a disappointing campaign in the Premier League.

But United slapped a huge £180m price tag on their prized asset which ensured a move to Real Madrid or Juventus never materialised.

With the Premier League transfer deadline passed and the Red Devils unable to secure a replacement, Pogba is now set to stay put for the time being.

He has given assurances regarding his attitude over the forthcoming season and was at his best with two second half assists in a 4-0 win over Chelsea in their opening game.

After the game, Pogba addressed his failure to secure a move away from United when interviewed by French TV channel RMC Sport and assured fans he will be fully committed to the club.

Paul Pogba spoke to French TV regarding his Man Utd future after their Chelsea win

“I’m always good when I play football,” Pogba said. “I do what I love, it’s my job.

“I will give my best every time I’m on the pitch.

“Now, we know that there were words. The future will tell.

Pogba impressed against Chelsea with two second half assists

“One always remains on this point of questioning. I am in Manchester.

“I’m having fun with my teammates, I always want to win the matches.

“I will always give myself thoroughly when I am on the ground.”

The midfielder received a positive reception from fans and turned in a strong showing

Pogba’s two stunning balls to feed goals for Marcus Rashford and Daniel James showed his class in a rampant second half performance at Old Trafford.

His performance backed up the support he has received from manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in pre-season regarding his attitude.

Solskjaer urged fans to back Pogba when he returned to Old Trafford after a sour end to last season, and they responded with Pogba lapping up applause from fans at all corners of the ground after the game.
