Paddy McGuinness causes chaos on The One Show as he blames broken set on BBC budget cuts

The One Show descended into chaos after guest Paddy McGuinness accidentally broke the show’s set.

The Bolton native, who appeared on the programme to discuss Top Gear and his recent weight loss, left Alex Jones and Matt Baker in stitches when he accidentally kicked the table leg, knocking it onto the floor.

Trying to cover up his blunder, the TV host picked up the plastic before blaming his furniture escapades on “Brexit”.

Finding ways to appease the situation, the 46-year-old condemned the BBC for cutting corners and using sellotape in order to fix the broken bit of furniture.

Paddy McGuinness accidentally ripped a table leg off during his segment on The One Show

“What is that?” he exclaimed when the leg fell to the floor.

“I blame Brexit… Is this what we’ve come to on the BBC? A bit of Sellotape?”

Holding onto the table leg, he exclaimed: “I blame the government, the budget has only just come out – that is ridiculous, I’m sorry about that!

The TV presenter outed the BBC for trying to fix the piece of furniture with sellotape

“Is this what kind of a show are we running? This is on the BBC, it is broadcast around the world.”

And his table-breaking ways didn’t go unnoticed by viewers at home.

“It’s always carnage when Paddy is on. Love him,” one user wrote on social media.

While another chipped in: “‘So just woke up from a nap and first voice I hear is Paddy McGuinness so you know sure as hell got to rush downstairs to see him breaking the coffee table apart.”

Paddy then blamed the shoddy workmanship on ‘Brexit’

Elsewhere in the show, the Top Gear presenter made a playful joke about presenter Alex’s innocent question.

She questioned the Paddy about his motoring skills, saying: “Are you any good under the bonnet?”

Slightly dumbfounded, he replied: “Please! It’s getting a bit Channel 5 – I’m not so bad under the bonnet if I’m being honest. Where are we going with this?”
