Optical illusion is ‘spot on’ at telling if you’re kind-hearted or more cynical

Optical illusions often test your visual skills, but this strange picture is a personality test which claims to test if you are a more positive or negative person

Mia Yilin an optical illusion creator online has shared a viral brainteaser which she claims can “say a lot about your personality” if you spend a few seconds focusing on it.

After taking a good look, most people see a cat either walking up or walking down a flight of stairs depending on their perception.

Whatever you see first will show if you are a kind-hearted person who can sometimes be a little naive or a more cynical individual who finds it difficult to enjoy the small things in life.

This bewildering picture has amazed Mia’s fans at its accuracy. In the comment section, one person wrote “Wow this was so true for me” while another user wrote: “This was spot on, as always you’re correct!”

Cat walking down the stairs

If you first saw the cat walking down the stairs, then you are a clever and practical person who prides themselves on their ability to read people.

You are someone who questions everything and never takes anything at face value. You can be very sceptical of other people’s intentions, and you often prefer your own company to spending times with others.

This can often mean you see the world in a very pessimistic manner and can find it very difficult to trust other people. However, once you get close to someone you are incredibly loyal and friendly.

Mia said: “You are a realist and a cynic. When someone reaches out, you can immediately sense if they’re gonna ask something of you.

“You know how to protect yourself and like to hear the hard truth. People like telling you their secrets because they know they can trust you. It can be difficult for you to enjoy happy moments because you can’t stop thinking about how all good things must come to an end. “
