Oasis star Liam Gallagher sends New Year’s message to brother Noel teasing reunion: ‘2021 is our year’

Liam Gallagher has seemingly called for an Oasis reunion in a New Year’s message to his brother, Noel.

The pair fronted the beloved Mancunian rock band from 1991 to 2009 before suffering an acrimonious split.

Writing on Twitter earlier today (1 January), Liam Gallagher wrote: “HNY Noel love you long time 2021 is our year c’mon you know LG x”

Fans have been quick to interpret the phrase “2021 is our year” as an indication that a reunion could be on the cards.

“Can you imagine?” replied one fan. “Would be amazing gift to us all in 2021.”

Comedian Paul McCaffrey wrote: “It has to be xxx”

However, despite Liam Gallagher’s apparent keenness to reconcile with his brother, the subject of a prospective reunion has been the subject of much conjecture and dispute in recent years.

Last March, Liam Gallagher claimed that he would reunite the band “with or without” his brother, for a gig to raise money for the NHS, adding that he was “sick of pleading” for the reunion to happen.

In February, he suggested that his brother had turned down an offer worth £100m to reunite the band. Noel Gallagher responded by writing: “To whoever might be arsed: I am not aware of any offer from anybody for any amount of money to reform the legendary Mancunian Rock’n’Roll group Oasis.”

Noel had also previously told the Big Issue that every tweet from his brother, whom he has described as a “moron”, is a “nail in the coffin” of any hopes regarding an Oasis reunion.
