Nigel Farage warns Boris Johnson he needs to call an early election and go for No Deal – or Brexit Party will never back him

Such an election pact would deliver a “massive” majority for the two parties, he said last night.

Mr Farage told a Daily Telegraph event that if Mr Johnson had the “guts” to go back to the country on a No Deal ticket there was a “deal that could be done” with him.

The Brexit Party – just over two months old – stunned Westminster by winning the European elections last month.

But previously Mr Farage has ruled out formal talks with Boris or the other candidates, saying he’s not sure if there’s anyone he can trust.

Last night he said: “If he has the guts to be prepared to be voted down by Parliament, to call an election on a clean Brexit, then I would suggest that … logically there is a deal that could be done, and in those circumstances Boris would come back with a massive, massive majority.”

He added: “I’ll work with the devil if they’re committed to getting us a genuine Brexit.”

The Brexit Party boss said Boris was an “entertaining” figure with “charisma, humour and humanity”.

He went on: “He’s flawed, and I’m very attracted to people like that!”

Tories – who were reduced to just eight per cent of the vote in the European elections – have seen their voters flock to the Brexit Party as punishment for not delivering our EU exit yet.

The only way of getting them back is by getting out of the EU as soon as possible, most Tories believe.

Mr Fararage said that going for No Deal could “spring” the EU into action “and they might offer some sort of tariff-free deal”, he suggested.

He’s argued that there’s no hope for Mrs May’s deal and we have to leave the EU on October 31 with nothing.

Last night Boris repeated his stance on a No Deal Brexit – and said we have to come out by October 31.

In the BBC live telly debate he blasted: “We must come out on October 31 because otherwise we face a catastrophic loss of confidence in politics.

“We already kicked the can down the road twice.”
