DIY specialist Nick Knowles returns to our screens tonight at 8pm with Channel 5 show Nick Knowles’ Big House Clearout. The program follows the cherished presenter as he offers British families a DIY makeover, as long as they are prepared to get rid of a large number of their belongings. Mr Knowles believes decluttering will empower the families, having thrown away 85 percent of his own possessions in lockdown.
Nick and his team will strip the homes bare, allowing families to see the true potential of their property without the mountains of clutter.
Their belongings are reconstructed room by room in “Clutter HQ” – in which Nick offers families a life-changing deal.
They will be offered the chance to ditch half their belongings in exchange for a stunning makeover.
To sweeten the deal even further, families will be given the chance to raise a bit of extra pocket money from their unwanted possessions.

Discussing the show, he said: “I think people will love the series which will be useful, inspirational and be in tune with how people are feeling about their homes coming out of lockdown.
“We are determined it will be a lot of fun too.”
Fans need not worry though, as the BBC has confirmed Nick will be back with new episodes of DIY SOS.
Nick recalled when Prince Harry and Prince William joined him in hard hats in 2015.
Harry hilariously responded: “If you’re going to call me sausage, it’s going to be a very long day.”
Mr Knowles told the Radio Times at the time: “Having met them before, I was aware they don’t particularly want to be walking around a building site and being called ‘Your Royal Highness’.
“They told me ‘You can call us William and Harry’. So everybody was quite happy to call them that.
“Apart from our electrician Billy, who called them ‘sausage’. But then he calls everybody sausage.
“Harry said to him: ‘If you’re going to call me sausage, it’s going to be a very long day’.”
The project was the largest ever to feature on DIY SOS at the time.
Empty homes in Newton Heath’s Canada Street and New Street were refurbished for former military personnel to live in with their families.
The Princes agreed to help out with the finishing touches after Mr Knowles gave them a tour of the site.
William showed off his painting finesse, giving a kitchen in one of the properties a fresh lick of paint.
Harry, meanwhile, laid paving stones in the garden of the house next door. He later joked with an ex-serviceman that he had to give William’s painting a re-touch as it was not “very good”.
They both met with volunteers and ex-servicemen on the site, discussing their own experiences.
The Duke of Sussex even received an invite to ex-soldier John Borge’s housewarming party.
