Netflix will allow users to skip past political jokes while watching a show by pressing a ‘skip politics’ button.
For some the idea of hearing another joke at U.S. President Donald Trump‘s expense is too much to sit through.
Now thanks to Seth Meyers, and his new stand-up special Lobby Baby, watchers won’t have to endure gaffs about politics if they find them tiresome.

Jokes containing any political content can now be zoomed past with the click of a button thanks to Netflix’s new interactive viewing option.
The introduction of the new ‘skip politics’ button was thought up by the talk show host Seth Meyers, of NBC’s Late Night and formerly Saturday Night Live.
He told CNN: ‘It dawned on me that because it was on Netflix, there would be this opportunity to put in technology that would allow people to skip it.

‘It was a way to build in the response to anyone who would say, “Oh, let me guess there’s going to be jokes about the president.”‘
Meyers added that the button was just ‘another joke’ in the show to him and he doesn’t expect people to use it.
The interactive technology has previously been used by Netflix in the Black Mirror episode Bandersnatch, where users could choose a story line and direct the course of the show.
Acting like the existing ‘skip intro’ button the easy edit will make viewing easier for those that may have skipped past political jokes manually.
Robbie Praw, Netflix’s stand-up comedy director, told CNN: ‘We’re thrilled [Meyers] was able to take advantage of the Netflix experience in such a funny and innovative way.’
Lobby Baby, premieres Tuesday and is expected to contain some Trump based humour.
