Netflix has found its next 'Bandersnatch'

The streaming platform will add an interactive element to another show

Netflix have announced which show will be the next to get the interactive treatment.

Last year, the streaming platform allowed viewers to have a choose-your-own-adventure experience with Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.

Now, users will be able to control how Bear Grylls fares on his latest survival show, You vs Wild. Viewers will be asked to make decisions that will affect whether the host succeeds or fails.

The eight-episode series will take Grylls and Netflix users across jungles, mountains, deserts, and more as they battle for survival. You vs Wild will premiere on April 10.

Reviewing Bandersnatch last year, NME wrote: “Where it’s very successful at making you think about the oddness of what you’re doing, it’s not so successful as a story. Like a lot of Black Mirror episodes it has a brilliant conceit but doesn’t have an answer smart enough to match its question, tailing off into vagary. […] The path Bandersnatch goes down is interesting, but not a path you might choose to follow more than once.”

Shortly after its release, it was reported that the Black Mirror installment offered more than one trillion story combinations, although there are only five possible endings.

Although the combinations mean that viewers could potentially watch a 40 minute offering, most will experience a 90 minute version of the experience. It was also reported that 312 minutes of footage were shot for the film.
