Need For Speed and Plants Vs. Zombies confirmed for this Christmas

Need For Speed Payback – do you feel the need?

EA still has two unannounced games to release this year, and at least one of them is going to be shown at Gamescom next month.

Gamescom has always been described as Europe’s equivalent of E3 and just like E3 it seems like this year’s event is going to be unusually quiet, with many publishers either not attending or not showing anything new. But not EA.

Although FIFA 20 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will obviously be there, so too will be the much-rumoured new Need For Speed and perhaps also Plants Vs. Zombies – both of which are due out this year.

Neither are exactly a secret but at the same time they haven’t been officially announced, just vaguely referenced during financial results to investors – which is what’s happened again with this latest info.

There’s been no public annoucement but EA were already caught inviting people to an alpha test for a new Plants Vs. Zombies shooter, codenamed Picnic.

That’s assumed to be Garden Warfare 3, or something like it, but it sounds like it’ll be unveiled in a few weeks’ time and out in time for Christmas.

A new Need For Speed has been known about for even longer but absolutely nothing has ever been said about it, other than it’s being developed by Ghost Games – who also made the last two games.

A recent leak from an Austrian retailer has been doing the rounds lately, but it’s widely regarded to be a fake or a placeholder based on previous rumours.

And even if it is real it still doesn’t give anything away or give any clue as to how EA is going to restore the fortunes of the once dominant Need For Speed brand.

This is probably fake
