Nathan Ake transfer news: Bournemouth play down interest from likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has insisted that there has been no formal interest in defender Nathan Aké.

The Holland international has been linked with a variety of Premier League clubs this season.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all reportedly scouted the 24-year-old, while Chelsea have a £40m buy-back clause having sold Aké to Bournemouth for £20m in 2017.

But when asked whether Aké had been approached by other clubs, Howe said: “There is nothing to reply. He is recovering well from his injury, we will see when he is back fit.”

Aké has not played for Bournemouth since suffering a hamstring injury in December’s 3-0 defeat by Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Bournemouth are currently suffering something of an injury crisis, with Josh King, Jack Stacey, Adam Smith, Arnaut Groeneveld, Charlie Daniels, Lloyd Kelly and David Brooks all still missing for the FA Cup third-round fixture against Championship[ strugglers Luton Town on Saturday evening.

Howe added: “The biggest thing for us is to get some players back who are injured. We know the quality of players who are missing.

“If we can [sign players], then great. I’m not going to give you any definitive ideas for what it will happen. Maybe loans but maybe nothing. It’ll depend on the injured players coming back.”
