My daughter, 12, is dress-coded so much I’ll make an album of the letters… school sent an ESSAY about her ‘short’ skirt

A MUM has been left stunned after her daughter received an essay from her school about the length of her skirt.

Tink and her 12-year-old daughter, Ruby, took to social media to share the letter which was blasted as ‘ridiculous.’

And it seems it’s not the first time Ruby has got in trouble for not sticking to the strict dress-code at school.

I am gonna make an album for Ruby of these letters

Tink

Tink said: “Ruby’s home. And we’ve also got another school letter.

“I am gonna make an album for Ruby of these letters, so that she can look back on them when she’s older.”

The mum went on to reveal that her daughter was sent home with a letter to remind her of the school dress-code and rules.

Ruby was wearing a black skirt as stated by the school’s policy but found it was too short as it sat just above her knees rather than on them or below.

The pair explained that Ruby was tall for her age which made finding the right skirt length difficult.

The mum then went on to reveal the uniform rules the school had set in place – reminding the mum of all of them despite the teacher’s claiming the skirt was the problem.

“Ruby Ellen is currently not adhering to the school uniform policy, in relation to this, here’s the list of school uniform,” the mum read out.

The list included wearing tailored trousers, not skinny, jersey, jeans, or leggings.

Skirts must be knee length or longer, no jersey, Lycra polishable shoes, boots, sandals, high heels, canvas shoes, pumps or trainers.

To top it off no make-up was allowed or facial piercing and all students must wear black socks and a blazer.

The hefty list of rules left many viewers shocked.

“We’ve also just found out that she’s not even allowed coloured hairbands,” said the stunned mum.

The clip posted to her TikTok account @cherries_87 has since gone viral with over 1.8million views and 200k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments claiming the school rules set were ridiculous.

One person wrote: “Schools are getting ridiculous, making children dress for the office job they’re probably not gonna work in and then limiting their education over it! stupid.”

Another commented: “Schools are so unreasonable.”

“That’s so stupid. Why are the rules so strict,” penned a third.

“This is ridiculous,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “No coloured hairbands is ridiculous.”
