Mum shamed after revealing her kids eat 85p ready meals while she scoffs an Indian, but says they love the ‘homely food’

A MUM has found herself being brutally shamed after revealing her kids eat 85p ready meals while she tucks into an Indian takeaway.

Kez took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share a picture of the spaghetti bolognese, chicken curry and rice and cheese and tomato pasta – all from Tesco’s Hearty Good range.

“Thought I’d give these a go, just some meals to keep in freezer… mainly for on a weekend when me and hub have an Indian takeaway,” she wrote.

Our girls just like to pick something they fancy and do it between themselves (obviously supervised).

“They’ve all had a different one for tea with added garlic bread.

“Tried each other’s and was all a win.

“Will deffo be buying again, especially as they’re only 85p each from Tesco.”

She concluded by saying that the meals are a “good portion size too”.

But some people in the comments section weren’t impressed at what Kez was giving her kids to eat.

“Tried them. Not for me. Nor my kids,” one wrote.

“Nothing like homemade food than packet food to throw away!”

“Every time I see the word ‘hearty’ it means meals the size of a budgies appetite,” another added.

I’m mum-shamed for how I dress my daughter – they say her clothes are ‘inappropriate’ and I should ‘let her be a kid’

“Good portion sizes….for a toddler maybe,” a third agreed.

“These used to be nice but then I went to eat the cheese and tomato one and it tasted like mould,” someone else commented.

Following the backlash, Kez edited the post to add: “Girls don’t like an Indian. We have our night they have theirs.. we are allowed one night off surely?

“If they choose a takeaway of their own, so be it!

“My days – people are too quick to judge.

“I was just giving more options.. girls love homely food.”

And others defended Kez, insisting they enjoy the budget meal options.

“The pasta and cheese is so nice!” one wrote.

“I had it for dinner at work one day last week and really enjoyed it.”

“Love them all taste as good as the dear ones,” another added.

“My kids (teenagers now) have been having these for years,” a third said.

“I keep them in the freezer so they can just help themselves if I’m at work.”

“These are brilliant my daughter loves them,” someone else said.

“The asda ones are great too.

“But there’s no way I’m having a take away without the kids.”

“My kids would rather starve than eat an Indian,” another argued.

“It’s great that they can join in with you this way!”
