MAKING packed lunches for your children can feel like an endless chore each school night.
But one clever mum-of-two has revealed how she makes a week’s worth of sandwiches in one night – before freezing them – in amazing time-saving hack.
In a post on Facebook group ‘Lunchbox Ideas Australia’, the woman called Crystal explained that she preps seven lots of sarnies in advance – filling them with everything from jam to Marmite, as well as cheese and ham.
Captioning pictures of the assembled sandwiches in labelled bags, she wrote: “Lunch prep day. This is one loaf of toast bread made 8 sandwiches (miss two decided she needed a cheese sandwich lol).”
She continued: “The freezer becomes a grab and go for lunchboxes – we add fruit and yoghurt and a pack of [crisps] or shapes or something.”
Her post has received more than 800 ‘likes’ with dozens of people thanking her for the top tip.

One person commented: “Wow! You are so organised! And I love that you freeze the sandwiches, I have to try this as it would save me so much time!”
Another wrote: “I always make sandwiches for the week and freeze them, they’re absolutely fine and it’s so much faster to pack.”
A third shared: “I love a realistic post.”
And a fourth added: “I need to start doing this.
I’m so over the morning rush!!”
However, some fellow members were more distracted by the pile of bread crusts in her snap – and slammed her for cutting them off.

In her defence, the mum wrote: “My boys do eat crust but it fits better in their lunchboxes with the crusts off.
“I don’t waste the crust – either cut into cubes and on a baking tray with olive oil garlic powder and mixed herbs bake for 12 mins = croutons, I have enough for the moment though so I made these into breadcrumbs and popped in the freezer.
“I use the crumbs for stuffing for roasts, as actual breadcrumbs to crumb chicken or sausages – or as a sprinkle over the top of potato bake or veggie bake.”
One supportive social media user reassured her: “I’m 32 and I hate crust.
“I just give them to the Hoover aka our [labrador]. I can’t believe people commented. This is a great idea.”
Another noted: ” You shouldn’t have to explain yourself. Your children are loved and fed…People suck sometimes!”
