On crazy hair day, kids get to sport their own clothes as well as going to school with the most colourful and strangest hair, with prizes for the best in show.

April Castillo had the best idea to try and help her daughter, four-year-old Atlantis, win the ultimate prize.

Featuring her favourite doll of Disney princess Ariel, her french-braided hair was wrapped around the figure and spray painted green to make it appear like a tail.

Her older sister Ariel Romero posted the pictures on Twitter, saying: “My sister had crazy hair day at school today and my mum was not playing games and really wanted her to win.”
