Mum asks for help to comfort son who’s missing his Elf on the Shelf – and gets bombarded with great advice


A MUM was inundated with advice after she revealed how sad her son was now his Elf on the Shelf had disappeared after Christmas.

She posted a plea on Facebook, after revealing her little boy was missing his elf, Ninja, badly.

He cried when the elf left, and has been trying to make contact with his pal ever since.

His mum set up an email account for her son to send a ‘goodbye message’ to, but he kept texting the number instead.

She asked fellow mums for tips on how to cheer her son up on Facebook group Elf on the Shelf 2019, and make him miss his elf less.

“He cried when he left so I set up an email account for his elf Ninja to send a goodbye message from him, and attached the reindeer video to it.

“He was really made up but now he has copied the email address and keeps trying to send iMessages to him.

“He told me he keeps trying to make contact with his Elf Ninja but his messages keep saying not delivered and it’s made him really sad.

“This is soooo sweet of him but how do I get him past it? Poor boy I feel so bad.”

Her post has racked up more than 100 comments, as parents shared their own tips for helping their kids get over their elves leaving.

From downloading a text app to setting up a fake Instagram account, parents have used cunning ways to assure their kids their elves are safe in the North Pole.

One mum said: “Have Ninja pay a surprise visit to your son, bearing a nice gift and a note telling him that he is always keeping an eye on your son.

“That he hears him even though he is in the North Pole, where all elves must be. A note explaining this would be nice.”

Another suggested: “I could send a postcard from Disney letting him know he’s on holiday. I live in Orlando.”

A third wrote: “Ours left a picture of himself with a ‘magic mirror’ that hangs on the fridge and watches all year long.”

This mum advised: “Maybe send him a note, letter in the post to him, and just say I miss you too, can’t wait to see you next year, be good etc.”

Another commented: “Send a Letter… Tell Him The elf can’t receive messages since he’s so Far away helping Santa Get Ready For Next Year.”

While this mum thought: “Maybe set up a real email like ‘ninjaelf@gmail’ and send an email from ninja saying something like he forgot his password and he’s super busy at the North Pole but can check back in randomly with him?

“Just reply as ninja randomly throughout the year.”

Meanwhile this mum played a cruel prank on her kids – by pretending a pile of chicken bones was their dead Elf on the Shelf.

And this mum filled her entire bath with hot chocolate and marshmallows for epic Elf On The shelf prank.

Plus this mum covered her son’s bedroom in wrapping paper and blamed it on the Elf on the Shelf.
