She battled through and is now home — but has gone through months of physiotherapy to learn how to walk again.

Former cleaner Janine, of Keadby, Lincs, still struggles to concentrate and talk on the phone and tires easily.

She is awaiting another op. But daughter Rochelle Hughes, 27, said: “She’s come out of the worst and has smashed every goal she’s set herself.”

Rochelle, who was with her when she collapsed, has moved in to support Janine in every step of her recovery.

“We’re so thankful she’s come out of the worst, and she’s smashed every goal that she’s set herself.

“There’s still a way to go though. I don’t think she really understood how much she had been through until she got home.

The diagnosis came as a complete shock to Janine and Rochelle. Although brain aneurysms are hereditary, there is no history of them in the family.

Rochelle says they wouldn’t have made through the journey without the help of Hull-based charity Paul for Brain Recovery.

She is now planning to run 31 miles throughout January to raise money for the charity.
