Moviehouse: new movie studio management videogame on the way – Film Stories – Film Stories

A new PC and Mac game is going to challenge you to run your own movie production company – more details on Moviehouse right here.

If football fans have the Football Manager series of games, what do film fans have? Where’s the equivalent for those of us who want to sit at a computer screen and try and make a successful movie studio?

There’s been a few that have tried – with varying degrees of success – over the years. But the one that was the most successful was The Movies, released all the way back in 2005.

Now though, a fresh contender to this particular throne is stepping up, with the upcoming release of Moviehouse. Open about taking inspiration from The Movies, this one puts you behind the scenes of a Hollywood production company in the 1980s. From then on, you need to hire talent, develop scripts, shoot films and successfully release them. All while keeping fans and critics vaguely on your side. Good luck with that once the game rolls around to the 2010s and the rise of Twitter.

The game is being developed by Odyssey Studios and is set to be published by Assemble Entertainment. It’s being made for Windows and Mac platforms, and the plan is to release it in the autumn.

More information until then can be found at the game’s official website here. And we’ll leave you for the minute with its trailer…
