Modern Warfare: 2v2 Gunfight Alpha – Everything you need to know


Busy this weekend? We here at RealSport would recommend clearing your schedule… only if you have a PlayStation 4 that is!

Just announced at Gamescom, PS4 owners will be able to get their hands on the 2v2 Gunfight game mode this Friday, 23rd August. The highly praised Gunfight mode will be a tonne of fun to get in and play with your mates. 

However, not only will this be a good log of feedback for Infinity Ward but will be a chance to see how their servers will handle the large influx of players bound to be playing this weekend.

Here is everything you need to know for the beginning weekend:

Alpha Details

Start Date: Friday, August 23rd at 18:00 BST, with downloads for the Alpha due to begin a few hours before.

Length: For the weekend only, from Friday the 23rd to Sunday the 25th 23:59 BST.

Alpha Category: The Alpha is a full open Beta. It does not require its users to the pre-order the game, and no PlayStation plus required. All that’s needed is a PlayStation 4 and internet connection.

Alpha Contents: All that will be available to the public is the 2v2 Gunfight mode. Please note that this is only a small section of the game until the release of the beta in September.

Maps Available: As highlighted in the mulitplayer reveal, the maps King, Pine and Stack will be available to play. In addition to these, two new maps will be introduced this weekend, called Speedball and Docks.
