Missy Elliot recreates iconic album cover for Halloween: ‘Can you tell the difference?’

Missy Elliot has continued her Halloween tradition of reprising a signature look as her costume, this time by recreating the classic album cover of 1997’s Supa Dupa Fly.

The hip-hop star appears not to have aged in the past 22 years as she posted a side-by-side image on Twitter of the original and her new version.

She captioned it: “WOW. This Halloween I decided to RECREATE my 1st album cover from 22 YEARS AGO one of these pictures I took ONLY 3 DAYS AGO the other was 22 YEARS AGO CAN YALL TELL THE DIFFERENCE??”

In the replies, she noted that even her mother had trouble working out which was the original version, explaining the clothes she is wearing in the recreation are the same from the original shoot.

Last year Missy Elliot recreated the garbage bag outfit she wore in her video for “The Rain”, but pointed out she no longer owned the blow-up version, so wore her Versace coat instead.

Missy Elliot is the latest celebrity to take part in the Halloween fun this year. Gabrielle Union, who starred in the cult cheerleading classic Bring It On, shared a photo of herself as the Clovers team captain, with her daughter Kaavia in a matching outfit.

She starred in the original film 19 years ago, but again, fans struggled to spot the difference.
