Reality stars, friends and family are saying goodbye to Mike Thalassitis, as he is laid to rest three weeks after his death.

The Love Island star took his own life aged 26 on 16 March, with his body found in a North London park.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed at the time: ‘Police were called to a park near Latymer Way, N9 at 09:28hrs on Saturday, 16 March to reports of a man found hanged.

‘Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged in his 20s, deceased.’

Mike’s friends and family were pictured arriving at Christ Church in Southgate, North London, to pay their respects and say their final goodbyes.

Montana Brown, one of Mike’s closest friends from his time on Love Island, was seen crying as she headed to the service.

The 23-year-old, who is speaking at the funeral today, was comforted by her boyfriend as she prepared to say goodbye to Mike.

Rebecca Vardy, Towie’s Liam Gatsby and Love Island’s Georgia Harrison were among the first stars seen arriving at the church.

Mario Falcone was seen arriving with Mike’s manager Dave Reed, before the star’s close friend and rumoured ex Ellie O’Donnell was pictured.

Alexandra Cane, from the most recent series of Love Island, arrived at the service alone.

Mike’s death came just days after his nan passed away aged 94, who he had moved in with to become her full-time carer; he was said to have been devastated by the loss.

The former footballer was set to open his own restaurant, The Skillet, just a week after his suicide.

Mike came to fame back in 2017, after appearing on season three of Love Island, alongside Chris Hughes, Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies.

He earned the nickname ‘muggy’ after getting close to Olivia Attwood on the show, despite her seeing Chris at the time.

Mike left the villa single, and went on to appear on Celebs Go Dating in a bid to find love.

The late star’s last relationship was with Megan McKenna, whom he split from last July.

Megan is believed to still be in Nashville, Tennessee, where she is recording new music. However, the reality star shared her heartbreak at her ex’s passing in a social media post.

She wrote: ‘Sorry I haven’t been on social media but I’m in complete shock and trying to come to terms with this. I can’t believe I’m even writing this post.

‘My thoughts and prayers are with Mike’s family. Rest in peace Mike.’
