Michelle Dockery: Downton Abbey actress wows on red carpet at world premiere with co-stars

Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, and Elizabeth McGovern stole the show at the world premiere of Downton Abbey in London last night.

The three leading ladies certainly looked the part when they stepped out with the cast of the period drama to mark the film debut of the popular TV show.

Michelle, 37, who plays Lady Mary Crawley – the daughter of Lord and Lady Grantham – in the series co-written by Julian Fellowes, dazzled when she arrived on the red carpet in Leicester Square in a shimmery gold gown.

The actress showcased her slim figure in the asymmetrical sequin dress which clung to her curves and then dramatically fell to the floor.

Michelle wore her dark tresses swept away from her face and kept her accessories simple with a single pair of hopped earrings.

The Golden Globe nominee was all smiles as she greeted her co-stars Laura, 33, and Elizabeth, 58, at the event.

Stepping away from her 1920s character, Laura, who plays Michelle’s on-screen sister Lady Edith Crawley, highlighted her toned pins in daring black dress with a thigh-grazing split on one side.

Her legs were on full display as she walked along the red carpet in a pair of black high heels with the train of her dress trailing behind.

The very modern dress featured a high neckline and a quirky hand and safety pin brooch at the shoulder.

Wearing her blond hair in waves, the star enhanced her natural beauty with a flick of black eyeliner and a slick of pink lipstick.

American actress Elizabeth, who portrays Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham in the award-winning show, opted for a vibrant pink full-length dress for the occasion.

The Downton star’s off-the-shoulder number nipped in at the waist and featured a ruched bustle-like detail at the back.

She wore her hair in a chic side-parting and added plenty of sparkle with a diamond necklace, bracelet and earrings.

The trio were also joined at the event by co-stars Hugh Bonneville, 55, and Allen Leech, 38, who play Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham and Tom Branson respectively.

Allen and his wife Jessica Blair revealed their pregnancy news on the red carpet at the premiere.
