Michael Ball and Alfie Boe announce new album and tour but reality backstage was TOUGH

Ball and Boe have had their hands full with successful solo albums and sell-out tours all around the country in recent months. The singers are also co-starring in the stage production of Les Misérables in the West End. But it seems the pair consistently return to their love of performing together as they have some exciting announcements for fans. Ball and Boe have revealed they are set to release their third studio album, titled Back Together, on November 1.

Produced by Decca Records, the release comes after their first duet album Together in 2016 and sequel Together Again in 2017.

Together beat The Rolling Stones and Little Mix to the Christmas Number One spot, and raced to the top to achieve the status of best-selling album of 2016.

But can the opera and theatre stars replicate their success with their third try?

The singers have now sold over one million albums in the UK, but behind the scenes, things weren’t always smooth-sailing, and it took a lot for Ball and Boe to take the plunge with another record.

Speaking of the new album, Ball admitted: “I don’t think either Alfie or I knew that our getting together to do the thing we love most, making music, would be encouraged.

“That it would be embraced and enjoyed by so many people, and yet here we go again with our third album!” the shocked star shared after all the hard work.

“It’s been a labour of love and I’m thrilled with the result,” he continued. “Now I can’t wait to share it with everyone and then get out there to perform these new songs live. B****y amazing!”

Boe echoed his fellow singer’s sentiment, saying: “It’s a huge pleasure to be working with my friend and collaborator on our third album already!

“Our albums are always a great opportunity to perform songs together that mean so much to us.

“It is wonderful to think that people might enjoy them as much as we love recording and performing them.

“And we couldn’t have done this new album without the support from our fans. This is a thank you to them too,” the theatre star added.

Details about the album are being kept under wraps, but they can get excited about duo’s major new arena tour taking place in 2020.

Dates will be announced in due course.
