However, the pair drew the line at naming names – joking that they will do the same once they “work out how to change Wikipedia”.

Mel shared: “There are certain people on Wikipedia, who shall remain nameless but are known to us in the profession, who’ve been sort of 41 for the last 15 years.”

Sue added: “I know and it’s very Google-able that we were all in the same university, in the same year.”

The former Great British Bake Off hosts first met when they were students at Cambridge University, where they also became members of Footlights theatre club.

They are referencing other stars who also attended Cambridge at this time, but their online age would put them several school years below Mel and Sue – which was apparently not the case.

The bombshell confession comes just one day after their fellow telly star Coleen Nolan revealed some more behind-the-scenes showbiz secrets.

The Loose Women favourite caused shockwaves when she slammed mystery “diva” celebs everyone thinks are “lovely” but “aren’t very nice” behind the scenes.

Speaking in a podcast chat, Coleen stressed that most of her fellow celebrities are “fabulous”, but she admitted some unnamed stars can come across as divas.

She said: “I cannot say names because I’d be taken to court, the vast majority are fabulous.

“There’s the odd one who yes, on screen, comes across as lovely and the girl-or-boy-next-door and all that, but actually behind the scenes aren’t very nice.”

Coleen added: “They are quite diva-ish and I find it very difficult to hide my disappointment.”
