Meg Mathews mistook a French model for her own daughter, Anaïs Gallagher, on social media.
The former party girl, 53, tagged her only child, 19, in a photograph of Adele Farine, 21, wearing in a backless bodysuit last week.
The mix-up was easy to make with the two bearing a striking similarity with their blonde locks and pouty lips.

Meg shared the image with her 40,000 Instagram followers as she owned up to her mistake, and blamed it on an absence of her glasses.
She penned: ‘I really thought this was nai nai [Anaïs’ nickname] no glasses.’
In the snap, Adele was sitting on a white fabric backdrop with her arms around her knees, dressed in a backless black bodysuit and a pair of cowboy boots.
Anaïs is Meg’s only child, who she shares with her ex-husband, former Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher, 52, who she was married to between 1997 and 2001.

It comes after Meg spoke about how menopause destroyed her sex life and revealed she’s started dating someone new.
The former party girl, who is an advocate for menopause, is in the early stages of a relationship with someone she met through mutual friends.
She told The Sun: ‘When you’re in your 20s and 30s it’s about sex and ripping each other’s clothes off. Now I want a soulmate, the whole package.
‘I need to feel comfort and trust and have someone to talk to and laugh with. I lost my desire for a while but I’ve met someone who gave me that excitement I hadn’t had in a long time.’

Meg did not name her mystery man because it’s early days, but she added: ‘But I’ve got “that” feeling again, so it’s a case of watch this space.’
Meg has been engaged three times since her marriage to Noel broke down in 2001.
The blonde beauty, who has been a vocal advocate of women with menopause being given flexible working hours, started going through her menopause at age 49.
She began to experience night sweats and crippling anxiety that at one stage made her reluctant to leave her house for three months.
Meg admitted she was upset when the menopause caused her period to stop, although she always knew that she only wanted one child.
In a recent blog post she reflected on how her libido disappeared until she came off antidepressants that she was taking for anxiety.
‘Anyone even touching me would make me feel ill,’ she admitted. ‘It’s not nice, is it?
‘The rejection was making my partner at the time feel rejected even though I tried very hard to make him understand that this was due to my menopausal hormones, not him.’
