A dog has been nominated for ‘Britain’s bravest pet’ after paragliding off mountain edges with his owners.

Courageous cockapoo Henry loves getting strapped into the paragliding harness to soar into the air.

Unlike other dogs, Henry swaps going on walks for regular flights over the rolling hills of Wales and even the Alps, strapped to the laps of owner Amy Jones, 38 and her partner Joe McCarthy, 39.

As a result, Henry has been nominated for Britain’s bravest pet and will travel to London for a lavish awards ceremony.

He faces stiff competition from three other finalists at the Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons, which ‘celebrate the achievements of exceptional people and animals from all walks of life’.

Amy, who runs a roofing company with her dad, said: ‘Henry is hilarious – his expressions are very funny because he is always so happy.

‘We go over to the Alps every year in a VW campervan and Henry comes with us and flies.

‘As soon as he gets his harness on to paraglide you can tell he wants to go – as soon as it is on, he’s ready.

‘But Joe and I are very active and he does everything with us.

‘We take him to Lake Annecy where he flies, swims and cycles in the trailer – it’s great.

‘Passersby expect it to be a kid in the back but then they see his little head. People think we are bonkers but it’s so funny.’
