ME Ibiza hotel review: a super chilled St Eulalia refuge for grown up revellers

Within one month of opening in July 2014, the hotel joined the ‘Leading Hotels of the World’ club. Little wonder.

This five star retreat has all the luxury trimmings. With 360-degree views of the white sandy beaches, it is one of the island’s true gems. A favourite amongst celebrities, the hotel also offers a private ME motor boat for guests to visit neighbouring Formentera and private island Tagomago off the East coast of Ibiza.

Where is it

On a secluded bay near Santa Eulalia on the East coast of Ibiza and neighbouring the famous Nikki Beach club.

The third largest town on the island of Ibiza, Santa Eulalia is renowned for being the quieter side of the island, with an idyllic marina and small boutiques, restaurants and bars on the beachfront.

If you do fancy dinner in the Old Town or a night on the tiles, most of the action is a 25-minute cab ride away.

Style

Minimalist Ibiza-inspired interiors complement the sea views. White linen is merged with azure Mediterranean tones, stone floors and hanging wicker chairs. The spacious lobby area features a digital art installation, which lights up the space at night.

Cool pool

The adults-only swimming pool on the ground floor has a gentle party vibe, with daily DJs from midday to midnight, Bali beds and a poolside menu. There’s a separate pool for children and a mini club crèche open daily from 10am to 6pm.

The rooftop features an infinity pool with stunning views of the Ibizan coastline, available to use for anyone who has booked a Bali bed – these cost 250-300 euros per day, including drinks and snacks.

Food and Drink

There are two restaurants, each serving fresh Mediterranean cuisine. The Italian poolside option, Bianco Mare, is ideal for lunch with a good selection of salads, fresh fish and pizzas.

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to cocktails too. The Radio Me rooftop terrace is a destination in itself, serving cocktails and fine dining with 360-degree views over the island’s coastline.

Throughout July and August 2019, ME Ibiza will have a pop-up restaurant at Radio Rooftop from renowned chef José Miguel Bonet, the mind behind Es Ventall, who’ll prepare his dishes in the open-kitchen space using fresh produce from Es Ventall’s garden.

Which room?

There are 205 rooms and 29 suites on the property, including the ultra-luxurious Suite ME. While not expansive in size, the Aura rooms are perfect for couples, with incredibly comfortable beds, great storage and powerful showers. The modern Ibiza decor is continued in shades of white with accents of subtle pink lighting.

For a treat, book the hotel’s Suite ME. The 400 m.sq. suite has its own 24-hour dedicated ‘Aura Manager’, three massive connecting bedrooms, a private swimming pool and an expansive terrace with the most spectacular views available across the bay.

Spa

The ground floor spa offers a range of personalised treatments using Parisian skincare brand Codage – for a really zen experience book to have your massage on one of the outdoor beds on the rooftop.

In addition to the fully equipped gym, the hotel runs daily antigravity yoga at Radio Rooftop Bar and regular yoga classes in the hotel gardens.

This summer Me Ibiza will also host weekly sound healing sessions, ideal for anyone looking for a post-Pacha unwind.
