Mbappe's message to Tuchel is suspiciously similar to the one he sent Klopp

Kylian Mbappe has praised his former boss Thomas Tuchel for launching Chelsea towards Champions League dreamland.

In the space of five months, the German boss did the unthinkable and managed to turn a side that was struggling under Frank Lampard into European Champions with their win over Manchester City.

On a personal level, he was able to right the wrong from a year ago as he came up just short for PSG against Bayern Munich.

The accomplishment has now elevated Tuchel to a different level and he is now considered one of the best young coaches in the game.

One player who is a fan of his is French superstar Mbappe who he worked with in Paris.

And the forward reckons tactically Tuchel is up there with the best of them and believes having a Champions League under his belt will propel him forward to become one of the best managers in the world.

Mbappe told BILD : “He knows exactly how opponents will behave and can predict matches very accurately.

“And we must also take this into account: he is still a very young coach. He can become one of the best coaches of the future.

“He proved it no sooner than with his victory in the Champions League.”

Chelsea fans will be hoping this will indicate Mbappe might be open to reuniting with Tuchel at some point as his contract with the Ligue 1 side is set to run out in 2022.

But it’s worth noting that Mbappe also waxed lyrical over Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp after they won the Premier League title last season.

Reds supporters were certain this suggested he was Anfield-bound but that hasn’t come to fruition yet.

He said in May 2020: “This season, Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League.

“They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.

“Performances, like they have been having, don’t just happen.

“To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager.”
