Marvel has confirmed that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is no longer going to be the only queer superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased details of an openly gay character that will appear in the highly-anticipated flick, The Eternals.

However, we haven’t been told exactly which character it is, despite the details revealed at the D23 Expo in California over the weekend.

‘He’s married, he’s got a family, and that is just part of who he is,’ Kevin explained in a chat with Good Morning America.

The Eternals are a fictional species of humanity who first appeared in comic book form in 1976, courtesy of writer and artist Jack Kirby.

They are a bunch of super-powered near-immortal beings created by a series of genetic experiments on early humans by a bunch of cosmic gods known as the Celestials.

The characters protect the human race from the Deviants, an alternate race created by the experiments who are both unstable and grotesque to look at.

Both sides have been locked in a never-ending war since their creation – although given the Eternals have achieved near immortality, they are pretty hard to kill.

They are also blessed with super-powers including superhuman strength, the ability to fly, read minds, generate illusions and teleport.

The male stars include Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjianias Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos and Don Lee as Gilgamesh, the Forgotten One.

Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Lauren Ridloff and Lia McHugh are the leading ladies of the films.

The movie is due out on 6 November 2020.
