Married At First Sight star Nic Jovanovic has revealed he was diagnosed with testicular cancer for a second time this year while filming the show.

The star was first diagnosed four years ago, however, after discovering a lump on his testicle around Christmas, went to the doctors to be diagnosed for a second time.

The 28-year-old, who works as an electrician, said: ‘I couldn’t believe it. Four years later… there was so much going on in my life, for it to come back, I’m still in shock that it came back.’

He added to 9Honey: ‘You think being that young and having dealt with it once, surely that’s it.’

The star recalled asking himself: ‘What have I done to deserve this?’

However, it didn’t affect his commitment to the show as he even delayed undergoing surgery so as he could film scenes.

Nic is now cancer-free.

The show, which sees people who have never met before being matched up to tie the knot, recently made its return to Channel 4 with the fourth series.

And, despite it having a less than promising success rate, the new couples don’t seem too fazed.

Jonathan, 39, decided to sign up for the show after recently attending a friend’s wedding and seeing several friends go on to have successful arranged marriages. He says that a deal breaker would be ‘someone lazy without the same drive’ and he wouldn’t want to ‘rush into starting a family.’

Meanwhile, Steph, a 28-year-old nurse wants to find someone who ‘is ready to make a commitment’ and lists her ideal man as someone ‘tall and dark, who likes cats, is equally laid back, funny, kind and logical.’

Office Manager Verity, 28, has admitted that she’s not worried that the track record of the show hasn’t been great either, explaining that probability is on her side.

‘It’s got to work at some point,’ she said. ‘You can see each year that there’s a couple where one person’s keen and the other person isn’t, so hopefully at some point it’ll be both people on the same page.

Jack, a 25-year-old IT Consultant who’s after an active petite girl, echoed similar sentiments, adding: ‘I believe this is the year for it.’
