Manchester United to seek permanent transfer for Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United have ‘no intention’ of bringing Alexis Sanchez back to Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Chilean is on loan at Inter, but injuries have restricted him to just three Serie A appearances.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided Sanchez has no future at United and the Athletic claim the Red Devils are hopeful a permanent transfer can be arranged next summer.

Sanchez had few suitors last summer due to his huge wages, but United committed to paying £300,000 each week to his wages at Inter.

United are desperate to offload Sanchez, even though they have found themselves seriously light in the forward department this season.

Injuries to Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial has forced Solskjaer to call upon Mason Greenwood from the academy, but United intend to correct that issue in January.

Mario Mandzukic has been heavily linked with a switch to United in January as he continues to be frozen out at Juventus.

RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland is believed to be Solskjaer’s No.1 target upfront, but any move for the 19-year-old sensation will have to wait until next summer.

United have also been linked with Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and are being tipped for a busy January compared to their closest rivals.
