Manchester United in talks with Juventus over sensational swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala

Juventus have entered the race to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and are prepared to offer Paulo Dybala in exchange, according to reports in Italy.

Inter Milan have been locked in talks with United for the last month over a move for the Belgian but their last bid of £54m fell well short of United’s £75m valuation of the striker.

Lukaku, for his part, is keen on working with Antonio Conte but a move to Italy appeals and a transfer to Turin would almost guarantee trophies given Juventus’ record in Serie in the last decade.

Inter are expected to submit an improved offer for Lukaku in the coming days but Gianluca Di Marzio claims Juventus are trying to hijack the deal.

The Old Lady are keen to freshen up their frontline and it’s claimed Dybala has been part of the discussions with the Argentine lined up in a part-exchange deal for Lukaku.

The Argentine fell out of favour last season but is still widely considered to be one of the most talented forwards in Europe.

Dybala scored Juventus’ only goal in a 1-0 win against United last season but his comments before the game – in which he lauded Old Trafford – haven’t gone unnoticed with supporters.

The Theatre of #Dreams : To play in such historical stadiums you have to do a lot of sacrifices as a boy!’ said Dybala.

It’s unclear whether Dybala would accept a move to United but he was close friends with Paul Pogba during the Frenchman’s time in Turin.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he would seek a replacement for Lukaku should a club meet his valuation but a swap deal involving Dybala could work in United’s favour, given they would not need to shop around in an inflated market for a new striker.

United remain keen on adding to their squad in the final two weeks of the window but Ed Woodward has been frustrated by the valuations of targets such as Harry Maguire and Sean Longstaff.
