Manchester United are considering a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports.

The 22-year-old left Celtic to join Lyon last summer and has scored 19 goals in his first season with the French side.

United, meanwhile, are in the market for a new striker with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to bolster his attacking options for next season.

And according to the Daily Mirror, Dembele is on United’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

But the report also claims that Arsenal are in the running to sign Dembele as Unai Emery is a ‘long-term admirer’ of the French striker.

Lyon spent £19.7 million on signing Dembele last summer and the French club are in a strong negotiating position as the striker is under contract until 2023.

Dembele could also be viewed as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, whose agent admitted earlier this month that the striker is open to leaving Manchester United at the end of the season.

Demebel’s potential arrival at Old Trafford would also ease the burden on Marcus Rashford, who has scored three goals in his last 10 appearances.
