Man Utd transfer news: Callum Hudson-Odoi, Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice, Joao Felix

Is Chelsea’s resolve to hang on to Callum Hudson-Odoi weakening?

The Daily Star believes so with the paper reporting that the Blues have set an asking price of £43m for the 18-year-old sensation.

Since his stunning full senior debut for England against Montenegro earlier in the week, speculation has been growing that Chelsea will either start giving Hudson-Odoi regular game-time or move him on.

And it looks like the Blues have chosen the latter option amid interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

German giants Bayern had a £35m offer for the youngster knocked back in January, but the Star says that United are ready to meet Chelsea’s valuation as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to build a new era at Old Trafford around youth.

Solskjaer eyes trio

According to The Sun Solskjaer has his eye on other young stars, with the tabloid claiming that the United caretaker is after Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

It’s not the first time that United have been linked with Sancho and Wan-Bissaka, but Rice is a new name in the hat.

Apparently Solskjaer was impressed by the 20-year-old’s maturity in his England debut and will table a £40m bid in the summer.

Tug of war

United face what The Sun describes as a “summer transfer tug-of-war” with Manchester City for Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix.

The paper claims that the bitter neighbours are both on the tail of the teenage frontman after he “caught the eye with a series of dazzling performances in Portugal”. Benfica, who are aware of the interest, have slapped a £100m price tag on Felix.

The 19-year-old forward has scored ten goals in 18 league games this season and a number of top clubs have sent scouts to check out what all the fuss is about.

Former United manager Jose Mourinho has been a long-standing fan but the Sun says that while United’s interest remains despite the Special One’s departure, Man City are now also in hot pursuit.

City boss Pep Guardiola wants to bring in “some fresh blood” in the summer, and a source told the Sun: “The two Manchester clubs are well in for Felix and City think they’ll move ahead of United.”

Quietly confident

Metro says that United are “convinced” Ander Herrera will pen a new deal with the club despite interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

The two clubs have both been linked to the 29-year-old Spaniard in recent weeks, speculation fuelled by the fact that Herrera is out of contract at the end of the season.

Negotiations over an extension are moving slowly but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has more faith in Herrera than Jose Mourinho and the Norwegian is confident that the midfielder will sign on for another stint in the summer because he is settled with his young family in the city.

There’s also the fact, says Metro, that the club are ready to increase the terms of his current deal from £100,000-a-week to nearly £170,000-a-week in order to secure his loyalty.
