Man Utd transfer news: Barcelona open shock Marcus Rashford talks as £88m move eyed

Rashford is out of contract at Old Trafford next season though talks are believed to be ongoing over a new deal.

Barcelona are searching for a new attacker with Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho’s futures both in doubt.

And Spanish outlet Sport claim that Barca have contacted Manchester United over a deal.

It’s reported that Rashford could be worth as much as €100million (£88m) if Barca move forward with a transfer.

But Sport add that the deal will not be simple with Manchester United reluctant to sell.

Rashford has plenty of experience despite being just 21 having played 170 games for United.

Rashford’s agent Dwaine Maynard recently appeared to clear up the striker’s future with a social media post.

He posted on his Instagram story: “The media just make it up as they go along. Stop.”

And United hero Andy Cole believes Rashford wants to stay at Old Trafford.

“He is telling everyone he wants to stay,” Cole recently said.

“Not just for the short term but for the long haul. He is going to be one of the big players in the club’s future.

“What I like about Rashford, he’s got all the talent.

“You could tell his confidence under the previous manager was very low but now it’s there.

“Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] has gone in there and said to him ‘we all know how good you are, just believe in yourself’, and he’s done that.

“When Rashford first came into the team we all knew what he could do.

“He kind of went away from that a little but know he’s back doing what he’s good at.”
