Man Utd prioritising two transfers as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyes major changes

The Red Devils have already signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James this summer.

Manchester United are expected to make more signings, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyeing a new centre-back and a central midfielder.

Solskjaer could offload Romelu Lukaku to free up funds for new arrivals, with Inter Milan chasing the Belgium international.

And according to the Manchester Evening News, United are prioritising selling Lukaku and signing Leicester’s Harry Maguire.

The Red Devils have had a £70m bid for Maguire snubbed by the Foxes.

Leicester are demanding a world-record fee for the England international, with United being told they must cough up between £80m-£90m.

Solskjaer is desperate to land a top defender to plug his leaky defence, with Maguire topping his wishlist.

It’s also claimed United hero Sir Alex Ferguson is keen for his old side to land Maguire this summer.

As for Lukaku, the striker is said to be unhappy with his treatment under Solskjaer.

The Belgium star played second-fiddle to Marcus Rashford last season, with Solskjaer favouring the youngster.

Inter Milan are chasing Lukaku, with United demanding around £75m for the striker.

Inter and United held talks this week over a deal for Lukaku, however, both clubs are said to be far apart on their valuation of the 26-year-old.

The Serie A club’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has been vocal on a move for Lukaku, insisting they’re hopeful of agreeing a deal.

“There’s no news regarding Lukaku,” Ausilio said to reporters at Milan Linate airport.

“Today [Thursday] was a meeting between two important clubs in Inter and Manchester United.

“All the players we’re following are targets we’ve agreed with Antonio Conte.

“We want to satisfy his request within certain financial parameters.”
