  • Manchester United are considering a club-record deal to sign Kalidou Koulibaly
  • Liverpool are interested in signing Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze
  • Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants two additions in the January window
  • Barcelona have decided NOT to sack manager Ernesto Valverde

Wanted: Fabian Ruiz

Manchester United have joined the battle to sign Napoli star Fabian Ruiz.

Ruiz is being tracked by Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid after his consistent displays in Serie A this season.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the 23-year-old midfielder at Old Trafford.

CalcioNapoli24 claim the deal could take place in the summer of 2020 with Napoli valuing him at £80million.

Samuel Chukwueze to Liverpool

Liverpool are interested in signing Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.

That’s according to French publication Foot Mercato, who claim Chukwueze has been ‘promised’ to a Premier League club.

The Nigeria international has previously been linked with Lyon and Chelsea – but Jurgen Klopp could make the 20-year-old his second January signing after the arrival of Takumi Minamino.

The report claims Chukwueze has a £53.5million release clause but Villarreal would do business for £34m.

Arsenal want to signings

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has identified two positions he wants to strengthen in the January transfer window.

However, his hopes of doing so are slim given he has a limited budget to work with, and because the Gunners’ board are wary of doing deals this month.

Arteta is keen to land a box-to-box midfielder and a defender, report the Daily Telegraph, in the current transfer window.

However, the club’s restricted finances mean that Arsenal are unlikely to complete any permanent transfers and so are facing having to settle for loan deals.

Ernesto Valverde sacked decision

Barcelona have decided NOT to sack Ernesto Valverde after Thursday’s Supercopa defeat to Atletico Madrid.

That’s according to Cope, who claim club president Josep Maria Bartomeu was happy with the sides performance.

The Spanish champions, who had two goals ruled out in the second half after VAR reviews, dominated the match and were leading 2-1 with 10 minutes left thanks to goals from Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

But it was Atletico who booked their place in Sunday’s final against Real Madrid, levelling thanks to a penalty from Alvaro Morata before Angel Correa struck the winner after Griezmann gave away possession.

But despite the late collapse, the board don’t believe it’s necessary to dismiss Valverde.
