Timothy Fosu-Mensah contract

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is set for a contract extension.

The 21-year-old sustained a serious knee injury during his loan spell with Fulham and is still working his way back to fitness.

But that’s not a concern for Manchester United chiefs, who will reportedly trigger his one-year extension clause before offering him fresh terms next year.

The talented defender, who earns £20k per week, would otherwise be able to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer when his contract expires in June 2020.

Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho deals

Manchester United are confident of bringing Erling Braut Haaland to the club, and are likely to revisit their interest in Jadon Sancho, it has been claimed.

£85million-rated Haaland has been linked with a move to Old Trafford that would see him link up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was his manager at Molde.

United have also been tipped to reignite the interest they showed in signing £100m-rated Sancho last summer, but neither deal is likely to be done in January.

The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell has revealed that Haaland moving to Old Trafford is very much a possibility, while Sancho might arrive too.

Wanted: Mohammed Salisu

Manchester United have expressed interest in signing Mohammed Salisu.

The Ghanaian defender has been a stalwart for Spanish side Real Valladolid this season – racking up 14 appearances and scoring once against Eibar.

His displays have caught the attention of United chiefs, who are looking to bolster their ranks with young talent.

Salisu, 20, is represented by Juan Mata’s father which could prove decisive in the battle for his signature.

Bruno Fernandes replacement

Sporting Lisbon are preparing for the departure of Bruno Fernandes.

That’s according to Portuguese newspaper Record, who claim the club are interested in Atlanta United youngster Ezequiel Barco to replace him.

Barco, 20, scored four goals and provided six assists for the MLS side last season and and earned significant praise for his displays for Argentina at the Under-20 World Cup.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham are all vying to sign Fernandes, who is valued at £65million.
