Man Utd have clever way to avoid Europa League problem as stars arrive for Partizan clash

Manchester United have made the decision to change their pre-match preparations ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash with Partizan Belgrade.

The team have decided to stay at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Hulme to eliminate the risk of getting caught in traffic before the game.

United usually stay at the Lowry in central Manchester, which is their main base for home matches, however tonight they know they cannot afford distractions as they look to bounce back from defeat at Bournemouth.

The team were pictured making the hotel switch on Thursday afternoon with Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Jesse Lingard among those carrying their luggage.

It’s not the first time Manchester United have changed hotel in the build up to a European fixture.

The same happened last year on the eve of their Champions League clash with Juventus.

Against Valencia last season, United were forced to delay kick-off by 45 minutes due to traffic issues in the city centre.

They were later fined by UEFA and given a warning about future preparations.

But even after chaining to the Hilton by Old Trafford cricket ground, United still struggled to get to the ground smoothly.

Jose Mourinho was forced to exit the bus and walk to Old Trafford amongst the supporters.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant that United are on the right path despite sitting ten points adrift of the top four.

“The work everyone does every day is pleasing as a manager,” said Solskjaer.

“It is hard work, stick together and team spirit. They want to do well and for one reason or another we haven’t had the results.

“We think we should have had a few more results than we have got, but we need to keep working and we know we are on the right track.

“Of course, Saturday was disappointing and now there is a chance for us to get two wins before the break.”

United take on Partizan knowing a win can edge them closer to qualificaton for the knockout stages.
