Man Utd fans order Ed Woodward to make Bruno Fernandes transfer in Twitter takeover

Manchester United fans have taken over the club’s official Twitter account in a bid to convince Ed Woodward to sign Bruno Fernandes.

The club tweeted four pictures of the squad training in Australia, ahead of their two pre-season matches Down Under.

But fans took the opportunity to bombard the replies with requests for Woodward to finalise the deal.

Bruno Fernandes is reportedly close to signing for United from Sporting Lisbon, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee for the in-demand midfielder.

“Waiting for Manchester United to announce Bruno Fernandes,” said one Twitter fan.

A second added: “Welcome to Manchester, Bruno Fernandes.”

Another Twitter user replied: “Sign Bruno plzzzzz.”

“Announce Bruno,” said another.

“You should buy Bruno Fernandes and Maguire now,” added a fifth United fan.

Bruno Fernandes won’t be playing in Sporting’s pre-season friendly against FC Rapperswil-Jona tomorrow.

The Portuguese club don’t want to risk him getting injured ahead of a proposed move to Old Trafford.

Sporting want to seal the transfer sooner, rather than later, but they still won’t accept a cut-price deal for the midfielder.

United have agreed to part with around £38m for the Portugal international, but Sporting want in excess of £50m.

But any deal for Fernandes is unlikely to progress until United have come to a decision about Paul Pogba.

Pogba is keen to leave Old Trafford this season after declaring he’s ready for a new challenge.

Both Real Madrid and Juventus have been linked with a move for Pogba, but no official bids have been made.

The France World Cup-winner has travelled with the United squad ahead of their preseason tour of Australia and the Far East.
